Welcome to Book Club!
Welcome to the Book Club Section of Your Story Your Voice!
A space where we will come together in community to dive into books that explore social justice, healing, identity, personal transformation, and more…
I’m Kiersten—book lover, community builder, and recent graduate of Adrian's 200hr yoga teacher training with Warrior Flow School. I live with brain injury, chronic migraine, and dysautonomia, and I’m passionate about connection, healing, and growing together through story.
Why Book Club?
The foundation of Your Story Your Voice is built upon connection, with its roots branching deep into the essences of humanity.
Think of this book club as a circle where our voices matter, our experiences are honored, and our hearts stay open.
The details are as follows:
We will read 1 book every 2 months, meeting twice per book
First meeting: A chance to discuss the first half of the book
Second meeting: The last half and the book as a whole
Meetings will be about 1 hour long (once a month) which will include:
A short centering practice
Group discussion
A closing breath and gentle movement
Meetings will occur through Zoom, and a link will be provided prior to each meeting
Our first book: My Grandmother’s Hands, by Resmaa Menakem
This book explores trauma, racism, resilience, and racialized healing through the body... A profound and powerful read that I am excited to discover together!
